01 / The edition

Keep the memory. Change the artistic setting.

Family portraits often matter because of who is in them, not because the lighting was perfect or the photograph was taken in a studio. Source Editions begins with your existing group photograph and gives it an artistic interpretation you can display.

A classical approach can give the photograph the atmosphere of an old-master portrait. Art Deco can make a family composition feel graphic and deliberate, while brighter movements bring a more playful sense of colour.

This route transforms an existing photograph. It is not a promise to merge people from multiple separate photographs into one new group: start with a single image containing the people you want in the finished piece.

02 / Inspiration

Family occasions that deserve more than another print

01

Parents and grandparents

A familiar photograph interpreted as artwork makes a personal birthday, anniversary or Christmas gift.

02

Family milestones

Celebrate a wedding, a reunion, a new arrival or another moment that has become part of the family story.

03

The everyday photograph

Sometimes the picture everyone loves is slightly imperfect. A candid photograph can still carry a powerful memory.

03 / The process

From photo to artwork

  1. 01Upload a photograph you love.
  2. 02Choose an art movement and generate an interpretation.
  3. 03Review the result before choosing a format.
  4. 04Order a digital edition or a made-to-order wall piece.

04 / Before you upload

A good family portrait starts here

  • Choose a single photograph with all the people you want to include, with faces as visible and clear as possible.
  • Avoid tiny or heavily compressed copies if you have the original file available. Detail matters more when several faces share a picture.
  • Review the preview closely for likeness and small features before ordering. If your photograph is damaged, consider restoration through Preserve first.

Questions, answered

Can you turn a family photo into a classical portrait?

Yes. You can try art-movement interpretations, including Dutch Golden Age, and choose the result you prefer before purchasing.

Can you combine family members from separate photographs?

This page is for transforming one existing family photograph. Combining people from separate source photos is a different workflow and is not promised by this service.

Can I give the finished artwork as a gift?

Yes. You can order a personalised physical edition or a high-resolution Digital Edition suitable for personal gifting.

What if the photograph is old or faded?

Source Editions also has a Preserve workflow for restoration, enhancement, upscaling and colourisation. It may be a useful first step before reimagining an older photograph.
